One of Lucinda’s inspirations has always been Henri Matisse. In 2008, she read the book, “Matisse the Master” by Hilary Spurling. It was during that time of reading the book she painted this painting in oil. The table came from her grandmother’s home in Alton Bay, NH. She disassembled it and put it in her suitcase when the family sold the house. The view is of the water’s in Cinnamon Bay, St John and the island in the distance is Whistling Cay.
