As Lucinda was finishing up my first year in the Bay Area, she decided to take my easel, bar stool and my art supplies and head to the Headlands where she could get a unique view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Lucinda drove up to this site, saw there was not a soul, and planted herself on the grassy hill. She was about an hour into the a painting, and of course a group of hikers found her. She thought of a woman who was on a painting retreat she was on in Italy who had a firefighter shirt on; “Stay Back 300ft”. She wore it anytime she painted on location. It brought a smile to Lucinda’s face, and so did the compliments of the people looking over her shoulder.
